Jaipur; The Pink City of India

Jaipur is the  capital of Rajasthan one of the northern state in India. It was founded by 1726 by Maharaja Jai Singh II. It is one of the planned city in India, which is reflected by it's buildings, transportation system etc...

Jaipur is around 260 Kilo Meters for New Delhi, the Capital of India. It is one of the famous tourist destinations in India which attracts both domestic as well as international tourists. Jaipur is always in the bucket list of holidaymakers who comes to India. Jaipur is home to many monuments, forts, parks, shopping destinations, sports centers and so on.

Jaipur leg, a rubber-based prosthetic leg for people with below-knee amputations, is well known in India and abroad which was designed and is produced in Jaipur.

Climate in Jaipur

Jaipur lies on a borderline between a hot desert climate and a hot semi-arid climate. Jaipur has monsoon between June and September. The highest temperature and lowest recorded were 48 and -1 degree Celsius respectively.

Jaipur is an amazing place for shopping. Moreover, arts and crafts works from Jaipur is very famous. It is very common to see traditional shops selling jewellery, bangles, handicrafts, gems, pottery, carpets, textiles, leather and metal products. There are many shops in the city centre which sells Jaipur antiques.

Cuisines of Jaipur

Jaipur is famous for its cuisines. One can get both vegetarian as well as non vegetarian restaurants foods in Jaipur. There are many south indian restaurants which serve local cuisines as well as south indian cuisines.
 If you want to try out Non vegetarian dishes it is better to go to Mohammedeen Palace in Jaipur.

 Keema Bati: A unique (Spicy) Rajasthani Dish. Available at Handi and Spice Court.
Jungle Maas: Mutton made in desi ghee and whole spices. Available at Spice Court.
Laal Maas: A spicy mutton curry. Available in many restaurants but recommend it at Saffron- Marriot & Spice Court.
Soola (Mutton): A Rajasthani version of Mutton tikka. Made to order- at mehrunisa's are the best. But its also nice at Handi & Spice court.

Lassi both sweet an salty at lassiwala on MI road.  Note, there is an entire row of shops, calling themselves LassiWala along the MI.  The original shop is supposed to be the one on the far left, shop 312, when facing the LasiWala shops from across the street.
