3 Unexplored places in Kerala

How Kerala became a travelers paradise for many in the world? No wonder that is due to the natural diversity. Geographically seems like a gifted land, towards the east it has steep mountains and the western side is occupied by beautiful beaches. As nearly 600km of Arabian Sea shoreline are beaches. Western Ghats occupying east of the state supports tea, coffee, spice plantations and wildlife. National parks like Eravikulam and Periyar, plus Wayanad and other sanctuaries, are home to elephants, monkeys and tigers. The elegant waterfall at Vazhachal near Cochin is a popular tourist spot.  Nature and Forest destinations are wonderful to enjoy for a person living in a busy city life. There are many colorful festivals, various type of dances, martial arts and the climatic seasons itself distinguishes it from other parts of the country. Here we list down 3 destinations to enjoy the natural beauty of the state.

Njandukulam

It is a village in the district of Kottayam. This is a hill station and a remote location for a specific tribe who has inherited for many years now. The place is under the department of Forests. We need to get permission from forest department to travel through this route and mostly the journey is through thick forest. The place will not be found in Google map and there will not be any mobile network. This is one of the places in the state where elephants are found in huge number. In every 10 km distance we can find at least 50 elephants. So it is a trip for the adventurous and courageous people. It is a right location for people who enjoy forest and nature. The Malayalam movie called Shikkar is filmed in this place.

On the way we can also see Mattupetti dam. There are fixed timings to cross the check post, so we need to be aware of that before travelling to the place. The main source of income of people in village is farming and is also known as vegetable village. The large plantations look like a well crafted art. The villagers speak a mix of Malayalam and Tamil language. The roads are very narrow and they mostly depend on Jeep for travelling.
